“It is not pain, it is the power to birth your baby.”

Victoria Black, Midwife

I always knew that I wanted to be a midwife. Before I even started my journey to become a nurse the whole process of childbearing held a special place in my heart. When I finally trained as a midwife, it just affirmed what I had always known, my place was at the family’s side when you bring new life into this world. It is a very sacred time in a person’s life, whether you are starting a new family or becoming parents again for the fifth time. It remains a blessing and should be treated with attention to detail, individualized care and sensitivity. It was through my experiences as a mother and a midwife that I wanted to go into private practice, to give others the same positive experiences that I had during my journeys into motherhood. I believe that you are the captain of your ship and should be well informed throughout your pregnancy, to make educated choices for you, your family and your baby.
